President Obama accepts the world's most Prestigious award as
"a call to action" on Friday, October, 9 2009. He accepted it with a humble spirit saying "This award is not simply about my administration...it "must be shared" with everyone who strives for "justice and dignity."
And after acknowledging that he did not deserve to be in a company of so many transformed individuals, he added that he viewed the decision as less recognition of his own accomplishments but more as a call to imrove the future of America.
The Nobel Commitee said they awarded him with the award for his "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples." And they led on saying that "Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future,"

JIMMY CARTER was one of the other presidents who won the award in 2002. Woodrow Wilson is another president who won it in 1919; and THEODORE ROOSEVELT who won it in 1906.
I personally am happy for President Obama and eventhough people may question why did he receive it without being in office for even a year yet, I'm still proud.
