New York Reaches Out to Those Who Won't Come In

This New York Times article is about New York social workers going out to help the homeless people on the streets of mid-town Manhattan. On nights when the wind chill dips to 20 degrees, the city's Department of Homeless Services declares a level 2 "Code Blue". Starting at 8 p.m., the progam's outreach teams divide the city into zones and drive around in vans, armed with lists of the most vulnerable homeless people. They basically visit each person every two hours all night long. It was said that the team's real missionis "death preventation." The social workers do not waste time; they follow a schedule based on charts that reveal scraps of identities of each person. They are trying to get less homeless people who often die from frostbite, amputated toes, or even hypothermia, off the streets and invite them in to the shelters all around.

This article is very interesting and I think the goal of the Department of Homeless Services' workers is a very good thing and it can save many lives as well as get other people interested in this field of work. The New York Times Website is a great website that you can search almost any article from international to arts and science articles and they prepare their work in such order and such professional diction. I recommend this website to anyone who likes to read and is always looking for an interesting article about the world.

Basic Geometry-points and lines

Points-

A point has no length, width, or height - it just specifies an exact location. It is zero-dimensional. In geometry we usually identify this point with a number or letter. For example, the picture above shoes a point labeled "A". A point is a position in a space. Two points are always coplanar and colinear, meaning on the same line. Just think about drawing a dot on a piece of paper anywhere and naming it with a number or letter or other identification. Points make up lines.

Lines

A line is one of the basic terms in geometry. We may think of a line as a "straight" line that we might draw with a ruler on a piece of paper, except that in geometry, a line extends forever in both directions. We write the name of a line passing through two different points A and B as "line AB" or as , the two-headed arrow over AB signifying a line passing through points A and B. Some types of lines are perpendicular lines, parallel lines, and contour lines . Lines make up planes and all kinds of shapes used in our everyday lives.

My Dream Careers

Many people have a dream career that they will fight to achieve, while others have no or too many to choose from that they're mind's are all over the place. That's me.

I am interested in a wide variety of careers and it gets frustrating when people ask me what I want to become. One of my dream jobs is a crime scene investigator. I always watch Law and Order and that show and others like NCIS, The Unit, and Monk really inspire me to persue such a hard core job.

I also might want to become a movie director. I love the way the movie business operates and the whole process just intrigues me. It takes a lot of effort, logic, pateince, skill, and money to produce some of the greatest movies out there like, Stomp the Yard, ATL, Poseidon, and American History X. This leads to my other dream job which is an author. I love to write and I am currently working on a novel and I'm trying to let it be released by 2011 God willing. I am in love with the skill of writing imaginative stories and I can actually see myself as a successful writer of many novels, aritcles, and children stories in the future.

I might also want to be a a stylist/photographer. Since I am so interested in film, the camera also catches my attention. I like how it works and the different things you can do as a stylist and photographer. I love fashion and I am crazy for cute outfits as well as cute make-up and hair.

If i keep going on with this list, it will never end. So I will stop right now. Thanks for reading!

Wild Birds Unlimited Bird Feeder Cam

Operation Migration is the lead organization in the efforts to reintroduce endangered Whooping Cranes into eastern North America. This website is a good website because it informs the people about the plans of the Operation Migration and it gives instructions on how to view the video of the birds. The official website can be seen on this link: Operation Migration.

This website is also very accessible and very informative. You can look at the different upcoming plans of the Operation Migration as well. The plan of the Operation Migration is set to begin its ninth season of migration flights from Wisconsin to Florida. The new addition to the migration is on a ultra light aircraft. Th Cranes will follow the ultra-lights from the migration launch site in Wisconsin to the southern terminus in Florida.

I recommend this website because it has some good ideas that anyone who is interested in birds, specifically the Whooping Crane can go to this website to find information about them and about their migrations. I personally don't really find it that interesting, but it is still a good website.

The loves and hates of the the opposite sex

So I have been dying to ask many questions and try and answer some as well about the likes and dislikes of the opposite sex.

First off, I am a female so the main focus of this post will be on the opposite sex which is male. Males are a very interesting topic because us females tend to be flattered, confused, sprung, annoyed, disgusted and in love all at the same time with these valuable creatures of the human race.

-Why is it that when us girls know a boy likes us, and we like them too, we try to play it off sometimes and try to pay no attention to them?
-Why is is that when a boy likes a girl they either try to hard to make us like them or they act shy and make their friends try to catch our attention instead of them being themselves?
-Why is it that boys act so stupid around their friends and when we say something about their retarded friends, they get upset?
-Why do many boys sag their pants?
-Why are the main priorities of most boys :money, sex, and women?
-Why is it that the attractive perfect looking boys are usually the mean, disgusting, stupid boys inside?
I have so many other questions that this post will go on and on. Girls, do you ever like a boy so much that you think it's Love? I do! But I try to keep my main focus which is my education for now. When I'm ready, the right guy will come around my way and he'll sweep me off my feet!

Girls hate when guys:

-act goofy/stupid at the wrong time, look at another girl lustfully esp. in their presence, act different around certain people, tell lies about their relationship, cheat on them, are abusive in all ways, aren't clean, don't take their education seriously, try to fit in, etc.

Boys hate when girls:

-are fake, lie a lot, are drama queens for little things, get jealous for no reason, aren't clean, etc.

Michael Jackon's: This is it

First off, I'd like to say that Michael Jackson is absolutely amazing and I think he is one of the greatest entertainers of all time. This video, although fairly short, shows how awesome he is at what he does. His dances and music are so unique and appealing to the human heart and soul.

I think that if he would've gotten a chance to perform that "drill" it would've been an amazing performance and I wish I would have been able to see it. I like the whole idea of the soldiers drill type of dance and the perfection of on-beat stomps and slides and all of those technical dance moves. It looked really perfect and on point and that's something that I always remember seeing in all of Michael's music videos and performances on television. I don't think he can compare with any other artist because of his obvious talent and uniqueness on stage, but there are many artists who when performing, try to use some of Michael's techniques or strategies because of his success everytime he hit the stage.

Michael Jackson is a legend and watching his "This Is It" video clip will prove that statement indeed.

My Pictures

All aboard! A Journey to St. Lucia

This is the Flag of St. Lucia.

Something I love to do is travel. Have you ever visited some unique or exotic place that you wished you could live at? Some of the places I have visited are Mexico, Alaska, Cayman Islands, and me and my family's hometown of Saint Lucia.

St. Lucia is a small yet beautiful island located in the West Indies near Martinique. It is known for some of its beautiful beaches and sites that continuously attract tourists time after time. I love St. Lucia; whenever my family and I visit there I never want to return home to New York.

One of my favorite things to do in St. Lucia is to stay at the Windjammer Landing Villa Beach Resort. It is located in Castries, St. Lucia which is where my mother's family is from. This resort is so amazing that in August 2009 when i went to St. Lucia, I wanted to live there. They have anything and everything you need to help make your stay a definite "relaxing time of your life".

In St. Lucia they speak english and a broken french known as patois. It is a lovely place to have a family vacation or a romantic get-a-away/honeymoon. St. Lucia may be a small island, but it sure has a lot to offer. If you don't believe me, then go and check it out yourself.

For the Love of Music

My love for music is so phenomenal. Whenever I need to feel good or safe or happy or anything of that nature, music is my refuge. But what is Music? Music is whatever you want it to be. To me, music is life. I can't survive without music.

My favorite artists are Trey Songz, Mario, and Chris Brown . I love these three individuals and their music is all over my I-Pod. Wren I'm angry or sad or need healing to my soul, music is my rescue. I can't imagine my life without music. Do you ever just listen to the beautiful music that pounds in your ears? Your body starts to move to the rhythm and you sing along as if you were performing in front of a live audience.
I know how people say "O that celebrity don't even know you so why are you so in love with them?", but I honestly feel connected to that artist whenever I am jamming to their music. Some of my favorite songs are "Yo Side of the bed" by Trey Songz, "Hardest Moment" by Mario, "Changed Man" by Chris Brown, and many other songs. If I were to continue that list, it would go on for pages and pages long.

One of the things I would love to do in life is go to a music studio with one of my favorite artists and record a song. I don't want to be a singer, but I'd love to get in a studio and see what music I can produce.

Obama's "Call to Action"

President Obama accepts the world's most Prestigious award as

And after acknowledging that he did not deserve to be in a company of so many transformed individuals, he added that he viewed the decision as less recognition of his own accomplishments but more as a call to imrove the future of America.

For more information go to The Nobel Prize

JIMMY CARTER was one of the other presidents who won the award in 2002. Woodrow Wilson is another president who won it in 1919; and THEODORE ROOSEVELT who won it in 1906.

I personally am happy for President Obama and eventhough people may question why did he receive it without being in office for even a year yet, I'm still proud.

Within my Words

I have an extreme passion for Writing. Sometimes when I'm at home I sit by myself and write. This process helps me think; it helps me relax and truly express my imaginative ideas. I write poems, fantasies, short stories, and recently, I've been working on my first novel. I've been undecided on a title for it but if you know any good titles, I'd love for you to help me out.

I use to be a shy individual; and I admit I still am at some times. But, I've learned to open up to people as well as new things and now I'm a very outgoing person. I have a lot of friends and people love me. They think of me as kind, sweet, and an awesome friend and I couldn't agree more.

I guess when you think of me, a smile comes in mind because people also know me as 'one who loves to smile'. A smile can really brighten up the saddest and gloomiest days if you think about it. But something I always tell myself is "Imagination is more important than knowledge" and with this in mind you can do great things.
