My Novel: Unknown Title

Ok so many of you already know that I am writing a novel. As you can see by the title of this post, I am unsure of what I should name this book. I have been working on this novel since I was in sixth grade and I am currently in the 10th grade. I am so very proud of my work because my writing has improved drastically over the four years. I love writing and my mother promised me that I could publish it when I was done. But I'll probably need an agent, you know. Ahahahaha! Because that's how good this novel is going to turn out. So I really need you guys to help me get a title for it; but to get a title you'll have to know a lil something about it right? Soooooo, I'll give you guys a LITTLE SNEAK PEAK:

This novel is displayed through the eyes of four main characters.
  • It starts off with Natasha going to school celebrating her 16th birthday when she meets J.J., the love of her life; at least she thinks he is. But will he be the turning point of her good girl gone bad stage or the death of her true being?
  • Janessa just found out that her boyfriend has cheated on her with her cousin and she is wreck. There's no doubt that she still loves him, but is her love for him strong enough to keep them together?
  • Tyreik has just cheated on his girlfriend and although he feels guilty, he wonders if he's happy with what he did. Then he meets Vanessa and the truth knocks him in the butt, when he realizes who he really is dating.
  • Vince is the man of the house taking care of his mom and sisters, but at school he is the "Playa of the School". After repeating the 1th grade, Vince needs a change and he reunites with his childhood best friend, Starr. He loves her, but is he willing to give up his popularity and his status for a girl who is carrying "baggage"?
I know you can't see it now, but all of these stories connect and in the end (when I eventually write it) you'll be begging for the sequel. I promise you.
Signed, the author

Taking the Stage

For those of you that don't know, Taking the Stage is an MTV show about kids at a creative performing arts school in Cincinnati, Ohio. Season 2 premiered on Thursday, Jan. 28 at 11pm. Watch episode 2 on Thursday, Feb. 4th on MTV at 11. I love this show so much; not only is it interesting, but it's how real performing arts schools are. The talent that these kids possess opens my mind to many new things and that is why I have recently decided to Play The Drums.
ARe you wondering where I got this idea from? Of course you are! Well, I went to my school's [Benjamin Banneker Academy] talent show and was blown away by a boy who played the drums phenomenally and a girl who was part of an all female rock band who played the drums. Watching that pure talent inspired me to pursue this and when I asked my mom she said "How are you going to fit that into your busy schedule?" I nonchalantly replied "I don't know and I don't care. As long as I get to play the drums!"
WHat do you think i should do? Take a look at my schedule first:
Mon-Thurs: Tennis from 4pm-6pm oR after school for Chemistry
Fri: Goddess
Sat: STEP Program at NYU
Ok so my only free day is Sunday right? But that is what I like to call my "Homework day" because I do all of my homework from the weekends on that day. Plus I go to church from 9am to 11am at The Brooklyn Tabernacle downtown Brooklyn. Help me decide guys! I want to "Take the Stage" and play the drums, the heartbeat of music.

Makes Me Wanna Holler

Makes Me Wanna Holler is an autobiography by Nathan McCall and it is one of my favorite books of all times. This book has a true meaning to it and can actually change someone's life. While reading this awesome autobio, I was intrigued and inspired by the hardships and roller coasters Nathan or Nate went through during his childhood to his adulthood. He tells the story of his crime-riden childhood carrying guns and stealing for a living, until he is busted for armed robbery at the age of 20 and sent to prison. He was sentenced to 12 years but luckily got out after three, and he learned so much from prison. Now he is on a search for a job and racism kicks in to the fullest.

Currently, Nathan McCall is a lecturer and Emory university in African American Studies and is a very successful author and educator.
