New York Reaches Out to Those Who Won't Come In

This New York Times article is about New York social workers going out to help the homeless people on the streets of mid-town Manhattan. On nights when the wind chill dips to 20 degrees, the city's Department of Homeless Services declares a level 2 "Code Blue". Starting at 8 p.m., the progam's outreach teams divide the city into zones and drive around in vans, armed with lists of the most vulnerable homeless people. They basically visit each person every two hours all night long. It was said that the team's real missionis "death preventation." The social workers do not waste time; they follow a schedule based on charts that reveal scraps of identities of each person. They are trying to get less homeless people who often die from frostbite, amputated toes, or even hypothermia, off the streets and invite them in to the shelters all around.

This article is very interesting and I think the goal of the Department of Homeless Services' workers is a very good thing and it can save many lives as well as get other people interested in this field of work. The New York Times Website is a great website that you can search almost any article from international to arts and science articles and they prepare their work in such order and such professional diction. I recommend this website to anyone who likes to read and is always looking for an interesting article about the world.

Basic Geometry-points and lines

Points-

A point has no length, width, or height - it just specifies an exact location. It is zero-dimensional. In geometry we usually identify this point with a number or letter. For example, the picture above shoes a point labeled "A". A point is a position in a space. Two points are always coplanar and colinear, meaning on the same line. Just think about drawing a dot on a piece of paper anywhere and naming it with a number or letter or other identification. Points make up lines.

Lines

A line is one of the basic terms in geometry. We may think of a line as a "straight" line that we might draw with a ruler on a piece of paper, except that in geometry, a line extends forever in both directions. We write the name of a line passing through two different points A and B as "line AB" or as , the two-headed arrow over AB signifying a line passing through points A and B. Some types of lines are perpendicular lines, parallel lines, and contour lines . Lines make up planes and all kinds of shapes used in our everyday lives.

My Dream Careers

Many people have a dream career that they will fight to achieve, while others have no or too many to choose from that they're mind's are all over the place. That's me.

I am interested in a wide variety of careers and it gets frustrating when people ask me what I want to become. One of my dream jobs is a crime scene investigator. I always watch Law and Order and that show and others like NCIS, The Unit, and Monk really inspire me to persue such a hard core job.

I also might want to become a movie director. I love the way the movie business operates and the whole process just intrigues me. It takes a lot of effort, logic, pateince, skill, and money to produce some of the greatest movies out there like, Stomp the Yard, ATL, Poseidon, and American History X. This leads to my other dream job which is an author. I love to write and I am currently working on a novel and I'm trying to let it be released by 2011 God willing. I am in love with the skill of writing imaginative stories and I can actually see myself as a successful writer of many novels, aritcles, and children stories in the future.

I might also want to be a a stylist/photographer. Since I am so interested in film, the camera also catches my attention. I like how it works and the different things you can do as a stylist and photographer. I love fashion and I am crazy for cute outfits as well as cute make-up and hair.

If i keep going on with this list, it will never end. So I will stop right now. Thanks for reading!
